Prepping can mean a lot of different things for different people. There are many different kinds of preppers, but I have found one thing to be true: most everyone takes it pretty seriously. Even the casual prepper. Prepping can include food, emergency and first aid items.
The introduction of the Coronavirus has shown us just how important prepping can be. Remember the Great Toilet Paper shortage of 2020? How could one forget?! For my own family, it showed us how just unprepared we were for the entire world to come to a grinding halt. Sure, we had a few back up cans of soup in the pantry and some meat in the freezer, but we were really unprepared for a food shortage or any sort of disaster.
Growing up, we always had a pantry in our basement. It contained mostly canned and boxed goods. My grandparents always had items on hand that my grandma had canned herself. I grew up knowing it was important to have backups of important items, such as toothpaste or soap. My husband is the same way and understands the importance of having extras of items that you use frequently on hand.
Regardless of the kind of prepper you are, from casual or typical prepping, to survivalist preppers, it is important to know what sort of things you should have on hand in case of an emergency. This can be anything from food to supplies. Being prepared for an emergency can quite literally be a matter of life and death, depending on the situation.Â
