DIY Deodorant Without baking soda

Save For Later!

If you are irritated by baking soda in your all-natural homemade deodorant, try this recipe that swaps out baking soda with arrowroot.

All-Natural

Benefits of Natural deodorant

There are many benefits to using natural deodorant! The biggest benefit for me is that it does not contain any harmful chemicals such as aluminum, phthalates and parabens. It is not an anti-perspirant, which means it allows you to sweat. Sweating allows your body to shed toxins. DIY deodorant is affordable and easy to make!

Simple and Natural Ingredients

Since this is a natural product, it is likely you have everything you need right at home to make this deodorant.

Arrowroot

Arrowroot is a starch that is often used as a thickening agent or as a replacement to baking soda in baked goods. Starch is extracted from the arrowroot plant and typically turned into a flour-like powder. Arrowroot is gluten free which is an added benefit for those who have a gluten allergy.

Here is what you will need to make this all-natural deodorant:

A Few Tips

  • I prefer to warm the oil on the stove so it melts evenly. Just be sure to use a low heat.
  • After the deodorant has been placed in the fridge to set, mix it after about 15 minutes to incorporate anything that has settled to the bottom.
  • If you plan on using a deodorant container, wait to add the deodorant until it has set a bit so it doesn’t go through the bottom of the container
