Frozen fruit smoothies are a delicious and nutritious way to get your daily serving of fruit! Make them by the batch and throw them in the freezer so you can grab one on the go! They make a great healthy snack or meal.
Time is a precious commodity! I am always in favor of finding ways to make my life easier by using my time wisely. If you’re putting in the effort to make a smoothie, you might as well make a big batch so you have them ready when the mood for a smoothie strikes! Mix several batches up in your blender and portion out into a baggie to save for snacks or meals.
How often have you reached into the fridge for some fruit only to find that it isn’t looking too good? This happens on a semi-regular basis in our house. Instead of just throwing the fruit away, I save fruit that is on the verge of going bad and throw it in the freezer. Once I have enough, I will take it out for a batch of smoothies.
One of the things I love about smoothies is how versatile they are. You can customize a smoothie to your liking based on the ingredients you have on hand. You can change up the fruits and yogurts you use and add other ingredients such as spinach, protein powder, flax seeds, etc. Get creative and see what you like the most!
Another thing I love about smoothies is that there aren’t really any rules! I don’t measure anything when I am making smoothies. I often stray from recipes when I use them, so I like that I can add whatever I want or have on hand when I am putting these together. I literally just add fruit and vanilla greek yogurt. That’s it! I prefer a thick smoothie, so I don’t add any extra liquid to mine.

If you are going to make a smoothie, you obviously need a way to blend it! I use my Ninja and I swear by it! I have had it for over 10 years now and it still works great! The link below is the version that I have. I like to take my frozen fruit out of the freezer and sit for about 10 minutes to soften up a bit before I blend it.
Ingredients:
Directions: Add frozen fruit and yogurt to your blender. Mix fully until you get a smooth consistency. Enjoy now or store in the freezer for later use!
