Stock up on these items now!

Unprecedented Times

I think we can all agree that we are living in some pretty unprecedented times. I for one, never imagined living through a pandemic. Especially one lasting several years long. If the pandemic taught me anything, it is that I am not ready for a pandemic! If you are like me, you may need some help getting started so you can be prepared. Check out my article on tips and tricks for starting a prepper pantry to help you get going!

Did you know that many shelf-stable, non-perishable food items will last indefinitely?

Check out my video here for a list!

Stock Up Tips

These are top food pantry items you should keep in stock and on hands at all times. These are non-perishable and shelf-stable items. Make sure you are checking expiration dates on the items you already have in addition to the items you purchase. Rotate the older items with the new ones so the older things get used first.

It is a smart idea to keep a list of items you have with their expiration dates on them, so they can be used before they expire. I am not that organized, but maybe one day I will be!

Keep a variety of items

To be more prepared, I put together a list of items to keep on hand in case of an emergency. This is a broad list, and does not include every specific item you may require. Families and households are all different. So, what works for my family, may not work for yours. Keep a variety of items and staples in the pantry so you can be prepared for an emergency.

What Should you keep on Hand?

If you know that you will never use some of the items on the list, don’t buy them! Don’t waste money on things you will never use. Instead, stock up on items that you know won’t go to waste. Buy what you’ll use and use what you buy!

Don't get overwhelmed!

The cost of groceries right now is outrageous! You may feel as though you should run right out and get all these items now. I would recommend picking up what you would use/need first and save the other items for a later date. If you purchase one or two extra items each time you visit the grocery store, it will be a bit easier on your wallet than buying all at once!

These items are mostly self-explanatory, so I will just list them below. If you are looking for more in-depth explanation on the items, you can watch my video here.
